Deputy Minister

Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility

Carlene Alexander became Deputy Minister for Seniors and Accessibility on October 18, 2021. Prior to joining MSAA, Carlene was appointed as Ontario’s inaugural Comptroller General in October 2020. She is a seasoned senior executive who has worked in the public sector for over 20 years holding several executive positions in federal, provincial and municipal governments as well as the broader public sector.

 

Carlene is known to be a compassionate, people-focused leader who believes in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion as a vital means to overall well-being and advancement.

 

Carlene holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University, Masters of Business Administration from Laurentian University, and holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
