Barbara Duckitt is currently the Acting Assistant Deputy Minister in the Consumer Services Operations Division (CSOD) of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and the Executive Lead for Anti-Racism, Inclusion and Accessibility for the ministry. Barbara joined the OPS in 2003 after 20 years of legal practice in the private, not-for-profit, and municipal government sectors in Ontario and the United Kingdom.

Barbara’s strong interest in social justice and discrimination issues has informed her career choices, including two summers in the Human Rights Commission as a law student and time spent in a poverty law clinic in England where her practice focused on employment and housing disputes, including allegations of race and sex discrimination. She is a strong proponent of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and is committed to listening, learning and making positive change in OPS. She is honoured to act as Chair of the Advisory Board for FrancoNoir.e.
